Project Accompaniment and Solidarity Colombia (PASC) and the Beehive Collective invite you to:

AN INTRODUCTION TO PLAN COLOMBIA: State Repression and Civil Resistance in Colombia

DISCUSSION AND DINNER at the MUCS Dining Coop

++++++++++++++ Wednesday February 6th 2008 5 PM MUCS DINING COOP 2000 Northcliffe Room # 218 Corner of Maisonneuve Metro Vendôme +++++++++++++++ - Project Accompaniment and Solidarity Colombia (PASC) is a collective based in Quebec that works to create a network of direct solidarity with Colombian community organizations in resistance for the RIGHTS to LIFE, LAND and AUTONOMY. Members of the PASC collective and international accompanists who participated in civil resistance in Colombia will be presenting the second phase of Plan Colombia, initiated in 2007: the military operations, the economic development and the official doctrine of “Democratic Security” to better control the Colombian population and appropriate their lands. http://www.pasc.ca - The Beehive Collective uses dizzyingly detailed visual narratives to illustrate connections between COLONIZATION, MILITARIZATION and RESOURCE EXTRACTION. You are invited to participate in an interactive exploration of the Plan Colombia poster. This graphic is the product of many interchanges about the issue of colonialism in the Andean Region of South America that took place between the Beehive Collective and organizers over the spring of 2002 in Ecuador, Colombia and the U.S. This graphic attempts to expose the lie of the drug war as a smokescreen for multinational corporation's interests in extraction of the rich biodiversity and natural resources of the Amazon and her peoples. http://www.beehivecollective.org/english/plancolombia.htm - The MUCS Dining Coop will be serving one of it's regular community dinners right around 7:30pm. Folks are welcome to stay and eat, and continue discussions over food. Small donations and help cleaning dishes are much appreciated!
