We have a report from Santander de Quilichao, in the community of La Agustina, of repeated attacks on the rights of Indigenous people. Public forces are in this moment shooting their firearms, there are elements with precision weapons and M-60s, there are are an unknown number of wounded people, as took place the previous day in Risaralda and the Valle de Cauca. In the same area, a truck used for carrying gas cylinders has been stopped by riot police (ESMAD), putting Indigenous marchers at risk. The use of tear gas has been indiscriminate and has generated physical and health harms among those exercising their right to social protest.
We ask all competent entities for their solidarity and assistance in the protection of marchers and the respect of their rights. We estimate there are 6,000 people on site.
